For my concentration, I chose to do animal portraits with a surreal aspect and create some part of the animal as something sweet and delicious. Surrealism is one of my favorites because everything is unexpected and there is so much room for creativity. I've chosen to mix in my favorite candies and other sweet treats like ice cream. I plan to have 12 pieces that represent my favorite sweets and animals and that show how I have grown in my skills.

This idea started when I was thinking through ideas of what I could make my theme, and then I thought about a favorite animal came to my mind. I love penguins and I think I was a little hungry when I was thinking of ideas because ice cream came to my mind next. After I came to this idea for piece 1, I just rolled with it. I picked out a few of my favorite animals and then found candy that could be incorporated into the portrait. For piece 3 I started using actual candy brands. Twizzlers are one of my favorite candies so I thought about what I could incorporate them in and I thought of a lion main. This was piece 3 and piece 4 has been my favorite so far. The peacock has been my best idea so far and I think my pieces have already started developing in skill.
